Shawn Rejcek Music

Shawn Rejcek, That Singing Ag Teacher

What happens when you mix a high school Agriculture Science teacher with a country boy who grew up listening to Marty Robbins, Gary Stewart, Charley Pride and other classic country music stars? You get Shawn Rejcek (pronounced ray-check). Shawn is a Country Music singer/songwriter from Abbott, Texas. Whose music is influenced by classic country stars such as George Strait, Marty Robbins, Gary Stewart, Charley Pride, and fellow Abbott singer/songwriter Willie Nelson.

As a child and young adult, Shawn often could be heard making up new words to the tune of other songs or advertisement jingles. As a young adult, Shawn started putting his words to his own music and creating his own songs.

An Ag teacher by day, Shawn spends his time working with students on learning to weld, build engines, woodworking, restore tractors and compete in FFA activities. Shawn’s songwriting repertoire includes songs such as “Hashtag Ag Teacher Life”; “Small Town Texas”; “Two Days of Drinking”; “Too Old To Go Out Drinking”; and “She Gave Me a Chance”, a song he wrote to honor his birthmother who gave him up for adoption at birth.
